Power Restoration Schedule by Zip
Debris pickup:
Waste Management will perform its normal trash collection but will not pick up
"storm debris." They ask for patience as their volume is way up, so they may be
later than normal. A more detailed statement from Waste Management can be found
at www.wm.com, Hurrican Updates - Ike.
Harris County Precinct 4 will be responsible for picking up storm debris
including the lawn bags filled with leaves, etc., but they cannot provide a time
frame when they will be in SCO. If you have any have a way to transport your
debris, it may be dropped off at 4603 Spring Cypress Rd (just E. of Kuykendahl).
If you have any questions, the phone number is 281-353-8424.
Paid debris pickup will not be coordinated or paid for by SCOCIA,
as the county is providing this service. However, individual homeowners who wish
to pay someone to haul their debris off can do so. SCOCIA encourages working
with neighbors who also might wish to participate in paid trash collection.
There are two companies that SCOCIA has identified that are willing to do this
service, though there are surely others. No endorsement is being given. These
companies are:
Premier Tree Service - 832-876-8733 (cell for Jose) - they will pickup debris
for $650 charge per truck (approx. 3-5' by 16-20'). They said they might be able
to do this work within a week of calling.
Adolfo Tree Service - 281-448-6916 (Adolfo) - They do this kind of work and
would like to look before stating price.
Mosquito Spraying:
Mosquito spraying has been scheduled with the county. There are no promises as
to when they will get here, but we ARE on their list.
Water:
Bilma Board President, John Chamberlain, stated that the water is and has been
safe to drink. Bilma had an emergency plan in place which included backup
generators. All of their equipment is working. If you have any individual
problems, call Hayes Utility at 281-353-9809.
Swimming Pools:
If your pool is accessible because your fence has blown down, please take steps
to cordon off your pool to prevent children or animals from possibly falling in.
This will protect you and them! Safety first!
Fences:
When replacing damaged fences, please use the same materials and style as the
other neighborhood fences (as they were before) especially for those facing our
streets. This will keep the look of SCO consistent for people visiting our
neighborhood. Having several different materials in view on a street does NOT
give a positive impression and we want SCO to have a positive appeal.
Please work with your neighbors to determine an equitable and aesthetic plan to replace fences between yards. SCOCIA will not get involved in issues between individual homeowners.
